Dear friends!

A particularly difficult year is drawing to a close.

Even though a lot of communication is organised through various online meetings, there is no substitute for personal exchange in the long term.

I am therefore personally very sorry that we have had to cancel our two planned meetings for security reasons.

However, we are optimistic and assume that many things will return to normal in the coming year and that the vaccinations that are now possible will also bring about a certain degree of calm in politics.

I am not so optimistic about the issues and unchecked developments on the subject of climate change.  A green Christmas has become normal in our part of the world, even in Finland people are getting more and more used to it.

It is therefore a great opportunity for our industry to offer areas for the production of non-fossil, CO2-neutral energy.

Whether this energy comes from wind, solar or biomass will become increasingly irrelevant, as the additional terawatt hours - demand for alternatives - is enormous throughout Europe in order to achieve the targets that have now been set and agreed with Hungary.

After an extremely dry winter, agriculture was confronted with enormous amounts of precipitation from May onwards, so that although field processes were disrupted to some extent, good harvests were nevertheless achieved in the end.

We will probably have to adjust to a new "normal" with many extremes and talk intensively about insurance models and artificial irrigation.

I hope that you feel well informed by our team about current developments and processes and that you will get in touch more often in the coming year on topics that particularly concern you - this is the only way we can address them.
